Vice Chief of Staff of the Army Gen. Peter W. Chiarelli commended Aviation Soldiers for their countless contributions in the war in Afghanistan and Iraq as well as outlined challenges continuing to face them during the 2010 Aviation Senior Leaders Conference here Jan. 28.

Numerous installation community members gathered at the Main Post Chapel Monday to mourn the loss of Zane Biddle, Fort Rucker’s first full-time youth director, who passed away last week unexpectedly.

Trekking to New Orleans to celebrate Mardi Gras is no longer necessary because community members can now make the much shorter pilgrimage to The Landing Zone for the staff’s first Mardi Gras Masquerade Saturday.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. dreamed of all races dining “together at a table of brotherhood” in a famous 1963 speech. Black History Month events here allow post community members to do just that this February.
